Tantra Yoga and Dance

Dance and Yoga

Indian Classical Dance is considered a  Yoga Dance, a spiritual practice for aspirants who offer their heart completely to the divine through their devotion expressed as dance. This is one aspect of Yoga, considered to be a path to "liberation" in the classical systems called Bhakti Yoga, or the yoga of Devotion.

The principles of the practice are similar and so one must understand Yoga to understand Yoga Dance. The two practiced together are complimentary to each other.
With the intention to align these two studies in a complete format, Chantelle was introduced to Bhagavan Shri Shanmukha Anantha Natha who directs Shri Kali Ashram, a centre of Tantra Yoga in south goa.

“Studing Odissi and Tantra Yoga has helped shape my mind into living a healthy and focused existence. One who is devoted to dance should have a spiritual practice such as yoga, meditation and prayer. These are necessary for a long and successful life and professional career."
